Keeping sanity during Christmas break..

What do you do while life is different between Christmas and New Years?
This year we started making bread... My 11 year old loves to cook and bake,
so I decided to get out the bread recipe that I use to make years ago.  The kids
were saying yuck, who puts cottage cheese and eggs in bread...  I told them that

there older siblings use to fight over this bread... It never lasted long.  Well,
sure enough... I put the bread in the oven... took it out of the oven ... and then
I had somewhere to go.  When I got home a quarter of a loaf was left out of 2 loaves.

We made it today and again the same thing happened.  If I don't get up early tomorrow,
I won't get any of this bread either.

Next time I think we will make cinnamon raisin bread.

What did you do this week to have fun with the kids?

Favorite thing to do in winter.

In winter our family loves to have tea parties... We make a treat and have it with tea mid afternoon.

When the weather is above zero we like to play outside... sledding and making tunnels and snowmen.

I like to bring out my knitting... the knitting is fun and it, also, keeps me warm...

What is your favorite thing to do in the winter... by yourself and with family.

Blessed Christmas to you all.

5 tips to Improve your Dry Skin

What is the first thing people notice when  they look at you? Your skin of course.
IF you want you skin to improve you need to wash it daily.

1.  The first thing you want to do is to ex foliate your skin... Why you say... you wash
our face everyday.  Sometimes twice a day... Well, ex foliating your skin takes off the
dead skin cells, leaving your  vibrant glowing skin for all to see.  Your body sloughs  off
dead skin cells ever 2 days to a week, depending on how old you are.  These skin cells
are what makes your skin drab.

2. Make sure that you use lots of aloe based skin care and lotions  do to the damage the do
to the damage the sun does to your skin.  Aloe keeps the skins moisture alive,  and  healing
your skin in the process. While the sun is good for you, you do not want your skin to burn.

3. Take care of  your lips during the winter.  Aloe and vitamin E are good for lips in healing
with the dry heat in the house and the cold dry air outside.

4.  A paradigm shift that many people should make is not showering everyday.  Showering
everyday for many people that are not  physically dirty or sweaty will be drying out your skin.
For many people, that leads to eczema and and other skin problems.  If you have dry skin,
use body lotions that are aloe based.  The aloe will pull moisture down into your skin to help
heal and moisturize your skin.

5.  Using products with perfumes  and dyes in them, irritate many peoples skin. Sticking
to aloe based products will heal the skin..

So in review.
1. Exfoliate
2. Moisturize  with aloe when you are going to be in the sun
3. Use aloe and vitamin E on your lips
4. Do not shower daily unless physically dirty or sweaty.
5. Stay away from perfumes and dyes.

Hope this help revive and liven up your skin for the winter.  Happy winter.

Boy, It is cold outside.. What to do?

What do you do when it is cold outside?  I am not talking about 40F or 20F  I am talking 0F
and wind blowing...   Well here today  the public school doesn 't have school so my high schooler
is at home with the homeschooled kids.

I told them that they have to play games that use math, religion and history skills in them.
This morning they are playing the card game Nickels, which is basically a sequencing game.
They also, came up with the point is that they are not to cheat or fight for Religion.  So far,
it is working.  Later, they will be making homemade pizza for home ec and then 2 of the kids
will be cleaning a house with me.  I told them, if I have to do anything over or they fight, they
will not get the pay we agreed upon. My other child will stay home with the 7 year old and
play games and read books.  It is to cold for them to be outside when I am not home.
They could be frozen before is get home if something should happen.

Thank goodness we have L'Bri  hand and body cream and body butter to keep our skin from
drying out and the aloe as the first ingredients is so healing.

So what do you do when it is to cold to step outside unless you have to?  Let me know and I
will send you a sample hand and body lotion.  Take care, keep warm.

Prayers for your Christmas season.

This morning was enjoyed with L'Bri skincare and body care products. They feel wonderful with the healing first ingredient of aloe in every product.

Worked on Christmas cards and my youngest made Christmas presents for everyone.
He made Christmas ornaments out of clay.  This year he seems to like working with clay.
They turned out very nice. Send out cards is making other peoples lives happier. I really like them.

This afternoon we made cookies and brownies. When I made the brownies, I put Reese's Peanut
butter cups in them. They are yummy..! The butterscotch oatmeal cookies are the first cookies my son
made almost my himself.  He (7 years old) liked the fact that he had strong muscles to stir the batter.
He made very uniform cookies.  I still cannot to this day because I am to impatient to get finished.

Tonight we watched it snow and watched a civil war movie.  It seems we need to watch
war movies when only the boys are at home. We are  suppose to have ice and blowing snow
tomorrow. I hope the rest of you don't have to be part of that.  If you can, please pray for
my husband, as he has to get my daughters from camp tomorrow...

Hope that you holiday trimmings are coming together the way you like them.  Have a good
Sunday.

Try this experiment.

Aloe brings moisture to the skin.
Drop water droplets on to the back of your hand.  Do you see the water just siting there.
Now put aloe on the back of your hand.  Notice how the water seeps into your skin.
L'Bri skincare products with aloe help to moisturize skin in this way.  Aloe draws water into your skin and
moisturizes your skin.  Looking for for moisture
ALOE is the way to go.
